Senior Systems & Middleware Engineer

Are you an experienced Senior Systems & Middleware Engineer with a solid background in managing enterprise Linux and Windows infrastructure and middleware platforms?

We are looking for experienced professionals to join a strategic international technology transformation project for a European Multilateral Financial Organization, working within a complex, highly regulated, and mission-critical financial environment.

You will act as the technical lead responsible for the underlying infrastructure and middleware layers hosting core business applications (Finance, HR, Document Management, Web, and Enterprise Business Applications). Your mission will be to ensure the reliability, security, high availability, performance, and maintainability of these platforms throughout their lifecycle.

The Project & Responsibilities

You will join a large-scale project supporting the operational maintenance, modernization, and lifecycle management of core application hosting platforms within an international financial entity.

In collaboration with software vendors, service providers, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders, your key responsibilities will include:

System Administration: Maintain, patch, and support enterprise Linux and Windows Server environments (including virtualized infrastructure). Conduct advanced diagnostics and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for complex incidents.

Middleware Administration: Install, configure, optimize, and upgrade middleware platforms, including Microsoft IIS, Apache HTTP Server, JBoss, Microsoft .NET / .NET Framework, JRE, reverse proxies, batch scheduling, integration components, and Web/API services.

Application & Platform Support: Provide technical platform support for core corporate applications (HR, Finance, Document Management, Collaboration, and Web portals).

Lifecycle & Vendor Coordination: Validate technical upgrades delivered by external software vendors, manage environments (DEV, TEST, UAT, PROD), and coordinate execution and testing strategies during maintenance windows.

📍 Work Modality: Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) on-site at client facilities (Paris area), with possibilities for occasional remote work and occasional international travel.

What We’re Looking For

Proven Experience: Senior background (+5 to 10+ years) in System & Middleware Administration within enterprise or financial environments.

OS & Virtualization: Strong technical mastery of Linux enterprise distributions, Windows Server, and virtualization components.

Middleware Stack: Hands-on experience with Apache, IIS, JBoss, .NET/.NET Framework, JRE, reverse proxies, and API/Web Services integrations.

Languages: Bilingual fluency in English and French (both spoken and written) is mandatory for this international environment.

Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities (Root Cause Analysis), strong communication, and a collaborative mindset to interface with multicultural teams and external vendors.
